No. I did not get free tikoy today. Instead of diving into the chaos that is Binondo, my friend and I opted to visit Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo because we have become so lowbrow and therefore in need of ammunition. Here are some of the pieces that caught my attention; they are either extremely beautiful or downright unacceptable. Make a guess and figure out the dichotomy–if you succeed, you get nothing, not even bragging rights. Enjoy!
Word of advice: if you’re visiting on a weekend or a holiday, bring a taser to scare the kids away–especially those who take selfies at a rate of 20 per studio. Shoo them, shock them, bring earphones so you won’t have to hear them wailing. Kidding. Just ignore everyone. And do not order fish and chips from the garden cafe. Que horror!
The Pinto Art Museum is located at 1 Sierra Madre St., Grand Heights Subdivision, Antipolo, Rizal. It’s open Tuesdays until Sundays, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Contact number: +632 697-1015.
